Kuljak Annual Breakfast 2024
Our Annual Breakfast held at the Hillarys Yacht Club on Sunday 17th March 2024 was a tremendous success with over 50 attending. A huge thanks to everyone for coming along and special thanks to the many guests (friends, partners and wives).
It was a fun morning with representation from most clubs. The venue is brilliant and the breakfast was delicious. It was a great chance for members to catch up with friends and old mates.
Congrats to Bob Ramsay who celebrated his 97th Birthday on the 3rd March and also congrats to Geoff Paull whose birthday was on the day.
Thanks again to Ian Toy who is a member of HYC for organizing our venue, Rob Ramsay who was able to get the venue at no charge and to Gary Powell for persuading Glenn Mitchell to be our guest speaker. This is the fifth guest speaker Gary has booked for the club and Glenn was fantastic. Also thanks to Dave Schomburg for providing some fine wines for the door prize and raffle.
Glenn shared many stories of his time broadcasting and commentating for the ABC at the Olympics, local and international cricket and AFL. His talk was extremely entertaining and amusing and very much appreciated by all who attended.
President Peter Ballarine presented Glenn a club polo shirt and a small cash donation as a token of the club’s appreciation.
Ian Toy provided a presentation on the Kuljak WA Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Ian will provide further info at the AGM where it will be decided to go ahead with this project. For more information please contact Ian.

2024 Annual Dinner
The committee decided to change the Annual Dinner night to a Friday for this year as no minimum is
required. In previous years we had to get a minimum of 50 and have struggled to get there.
The Date: Friday 16th August
Venue: Rivergum Room at the RAAFA, Bullcreek.
The Cost: $45 for a 2 course meal.
A table of 8 can be reserved but please let me know if this is required.
Further details will be provided in the next newsletter.
There will be a raffle, heads and tails and a fines session conducted by Peter Smirk so bring a few extra gold coins to join in the fun. Full bar facilities will be available.
Last year numbers were down a little on so we are hoping to turn around this year.
This is always a fantastic night so please book early. Kuljak’s theme for this year is to invite the following
State League Teams:
Wanneroo-Joondalup who were Men’s Premiers in 2004
Wembley who were Men’s Premiers in 2009
Wembley who won the Women’s Premiership in 2004
Please save the date, it’s always a fun night.
