Bob's Remarkable Lacrosse Journey

Bob's lacrosse career began in 1938 as a founding member of the Wembley boys'

team, which transitioned into the Wembley Lacrosse Club in the early 1940s. He

excelled as an attack player for Wembley's A-grade team in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

State & National Recognition

At just 20 years old in 1947, Bob was instrumental in Western Australia's first Australian Lacrosse Championship win, where he was notably considered the "baby" of the team and named Best Player of the Carnival. His talent was further recognized in 1950 when he played for Western Australia in Melbourne and was one of only two Western Australian players selected for the All-Australian team. He again represented Western Australia at the 1959 Australian Championships in Adelaide.

International & Coaching Achievements

Bob's playing career culminated in his selection for the first Australian team to tour the USA and England in 1962. Beyond playing, Bob served as President of the Wembley Club from 1969-1976, earning Life Membership in 1958. He was later honored with Western Australian Lacrosse Association Life Membership in 1995. In 1972, Bob coached the Western Australian team to their next Australian Championship win in Perth, also being named the All-Australian Coach for that carnival. Bob's career was truly brilliant, both as a player and later as a coach.
