Peter's Lacrosse Journey

Peter's lacrosse career began at age ten with the Fremantle Lacrosse Club,

where he played until 1972, including their 1970 A Grade Premiership team. He

then joined East Fremantle Lacrosse Club in 1973, playing in ten A Grade

Premiership-winning teams between 1975 and 1990.​

 

State & International Recognition

Peter first represented Western Australia as an Under 16 in 1965, then Colts, and continuously as a Senior from 1970 to 1989, including the 1972 Australian Championship win and four All-Star selections. In 2000, he was named an attack player in the WA Lacrosse Association Millennium Team.

Internationally, Peter played for Australia in 1976 and in four World Championships (1978, 1982, 1986, 1990). He was named Best Attack Player in 1978, selected for the All-World teams in 1982 and 1986, and awarded Most Valuable Player at the 1986 Championships. He also participated in the 1984 pre-Olympic Demonstration Games and a 1990 USA touring team.

Leadership & Legacy

Peter served as Fremantle Secretary (1968-1970) and East Fremantle President (2007), earning East Fremantle Life Membership in 1984. He received the Australian Lacrosse Council's Certificate of Merit in 1992. Peter also coached State Men's and Women's senior teams, winning the 1993 Australian Championship.

Peter's exceptional talent is highlighted by his state goal-throwing record of 187 goals in a single season for East Fremantle. His extensive premiership wins, multiple All-World selections, and MVP award.
