I J Taylor Shield

While serving as Western Australian Lacrosse Association secretary Ike introduced “District Lacrosse” which required clubs be known by a suburban name. This was designed to promote recruitment of local players.

To recognise his contribution to Western Australian lacrosse during his time as Association Secretary and Treasurer the I J Taylor Shield replaced the Clark Cup in 1932. The shield is awarded to the men’s team winning the Grand Final in the highest Western Australian Lacrosse Association grade each year.

A tireless worker for lacrosse whose influence had a significant impact on the development of lacrosse during the nineteen twenties to the nineteen fifties.
